What Enterprise locations in St Louis MO accept debit?
06.June, 2009
im looking to rent a vehicle but do not have a credit card, and i wanted to use enterprise but the airport location only accepts debit if you are flying in.. does anyone know what locations will accept debit? Thanks!
you can also NOT use a debit card at all a debit card is not a credit card even if u use it as a charge
Your best bet is to pull-up car rental companies on the internet. Make sure you write down the name and city location of the agent you are talking to so you don't get a mix-up on the day in question.
First they bring illegals here and then make them work as modern day slaves. What should the Government do to these people for their crimes?
Should there be stiffer punishments for people like this, coyotes and human smugglers?
Are people like this worse than coyotes, because these people did not know what was ahead of them and lied to so they would come here?
I am anti-illegal but I do not agree with this!
Prosecutors charged 12 people in alleged scheme to employ illegal immigrants in 14 states
By Associated Press
3:10 PM PDT, May 27, 2009
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Twelve people — eight of them from Uzbekistan — are accused in a federal indictment of luring illegal immigrants to the U.S. to work as "modern-day slaves" in 14 states.
Prosecutors announced Wednesday that a federal grand jury in Kansas City issued a 45-count indictment May 6 under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act that included charges of labor racketeering, forced labor trafficking and immigration violations.
Matt Whitworth, acting U.S. attorney for the Western District of Missouri, said Wednesday that the defendants used false information to obtain fake work visas for the foreign workers, who were then threatened with deportation while living in substandard apartments and working for inadequate pay.
The indictment says the conspiracy involved fraudulent labor leasing contracts in Missouri, Kansas, Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, South Carolina and Wyoming.
Eight of the 12 defendants were arrested Tuesday, when the indictment was unsealed. They made their first court appearances in the states where they were arrested and are being held in federal custody until they are brought to Kansas City, said Don Ledford, a spokesman for the U.S. attorney's office.
The scheme ensnared hundreds of illegal immigrants who worked at hotels, construction sites, and in other businesses, many of them in the Kansas City area and in the southwest Missouri resort town of Branson, Whitworth said.
"The indictment alleges that this criminal enterprise lured victims to the United States under the guise of legitimate jobs and a better life, only to treat them as modern-day slaves under the threat of deportation," said James Gibbons, acting special agent in charge of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement based in Chicago.
The employees allegedly were required to pay exorbitant rent to live in barely furnished apartments that "ensured that the workers did not make enough to repay their debt, purchase a plane ticket home or pay their own living expenses while in the United States," according to Whitworth.
The workers also allegedly had to pay for transportation to their jobs, uniform fees and other fees that, combined with low pay or lack of work, often left them with paychecks that had negative earnings, prosecutors said. They were threatened with physical harm, deportation or other legal problems if they did not comply. The scheme also controlled the workers by not allowing them to receive mail, prosecutors said.
The companies indicted were Kansas City labor leasing company Giant Labor Solutions; Crystal Management, Inc., headquartered in Mission, Kan.; and Five Star Cleaning, headquartered in Overland Park, Kan.
Court records did not list lawyers for any of the defendants, and Ledford said the U.S. attorney's office was not sure if any of them had hired lawyers.
A telephone mailbox at a number of Giant Labor Solutions was full and could not accept messages Wednesday. No phone listings were found for Crystal Management or Five Star Cleaning. Ledford said it's likely the two companies were run out of private homes and are no longer in existence.
sorry: Should there be plenty more arrests?
sorry: Should there be plenty more arrests?
Twelve people in fourteen states, does that not tell you that this thing is much larger than they are saying?
Should there not be plenty of other arrests?
grease - I will take that blame, they are not supposed to be coming here, these people who hire coyotes and smugglers know exactly what they are up against, when people are brought here under false pretense it is different. None should be able to make any person work as a slave.

Car rental company that rents on weekends?
22.May, 2009
I usually go through Enterprise but just found out they are closed mostly on weekends. Does anyone know of car rental companies that are open on weekends? With locations AWAY from airports? Any suggestions?
What about Avis, Budget or Hertz? You would hate Enterprise anyway. Took me 6 months to get an adjustment, then they did it and didn't even notify me.
ok here's what happened. i picked up the car on 3/16/09 at 8a. 10 minutes after leaving the lot, i noticed the change oil soon light is on. so when i got to my destination, i called enterprise to let them know and to find out what to do. enterprise says it should be fine for the 3 days that i will have it. they asked if i wanted to trade vehicles, i said no, if you say it will be just fine then it should be fine. so yesterday, 3/18/09 at about 8pm i am on my way home from work and the car starts making a funny sound. it sounds as if it's not shifting right. this particular car (2008 chevy cobalt) has no oil or coolant gauge. i've never owned a new car, mine is a 1999, so i couldn't figure out how to check these things. so i start pressing buttons on the steering wheel and find the coolant and oil gauges. the oil level says 0% and the water gauge says it's at 220'F. so i'm freaking out. i make it home and call enterprise. of course they weren't open. so i called roadside assistance. long story short, the towing service comes 40 minutes later to pick up the car. it's almost 9pm at night, so i'm sure the tow guys couldn't see the car all that clearly. i then watched them tow the car away after getting my belongings out of it. then i am picked up by a family member to go to the airport location to get a replacement. another day goes by, and i am at work. my husband calls me at work to tell me that enterprise has left a nasty message on our answering machine saying that the car appears to have been wrecked and that there is massive front end damage to the vehicle. also they state in the message that the car is being fixed already. car they fix this car without me seeing it first? in my defense, there was NO possible way that anyone could have hit the rental car. i never backed in to a space, and i was always within eye distance of the car, unless sleeping. i tried calling enterprise, but the claims department is no help. i just have to wait until tomorrow morning. is there anyway that they can charge me with this since they didn't see the car before they hauled it away. there was no walk around by the towing service, or enterprise before it was picked up. how can they prove it was me and not the dealership they took it to to get fixed? or the towing service? this is really upsetting. if someone can help answer this, please try your best. thanks in advance.
my husband said it would bite me in the butt, and it did. no i didn't get the insurance through them. there were no witnesses. i did not receive a receipt, it was covered by the other party's insurance. it was the national customer service roadside assistance that i spoke with. and they said i would have to file the claim and/or statements with the local branch that i got the car from. it looks like i'm just going to have to talk with the local branch in the morning. thanks for the input, seattle.
i do, have full coverage that i would have to pay a $500 deductible, though.
Well here's the scoop…unscrupulous companies take advantage of people who don't play their game…and their game is the extra insurance, which is pretty much free money to them.. the few claims they have and the exclusions and clauses make the extra income for them a windfall…
They lure you in with good prices, then the insurance usually about doubles the cost of a rental making the transaction twice the price you were intending on paying.. Why don't they just make it one price and covers all?…because they want to put the base price as low as they can, then make the rest up on extras…
Sometimes they will take advantage of someone who declines their free money scam, by either trumping up false repairs or claiming damage to the car to make money that way… Them saying the car was already in for repairs is bogus, as an adjuster has to sign off on it, and then the appointment to fix it set.. this takes time, and if another party is responsible they would need to allow you time to inspect the damages yourself, or to have your insurance adjuster estimate the damages since they are the ones who are going to be responsible for these charges/damages.
On the back of most rental car lots are areas where they park the wrecks while the issues are ironed out… this whole story reeks of a scam and I would contest the charges and take them to court or demand that your right to inspect the vehicle for this alleged damage was violated….and the towing company took possession of the vehicle and nothing was mentioned of any damage, and when it left your possession it was fine..
Don't let them bully you into this… fight with these thieves, and don't give in… Good Luck
I'll have to remember this one…I always take out the full coverage insurance, because somehow I suspected something like this could happen

Please make me understand what does a 2 Mbps 1:1 symmetric lease line connection mean.?
31.March, 2009
Will this connection have 1mbps upload and 1 mbps download
or it would have 2mbps upload and 2 mbps download
what would be its bandwidth. Because I have a 2 mbps 1:1 symm link
the speed test shows a maximum of 800 kbps upload and 600 kbps , so that I can put the problem in a right way to the ISP down load. Please any one confirm——— A govt of india enterprise
This would be a 2 Mbps connection both ways.Since it is in India, it is very unlikely you will ever get that speed. All the ISPs there claim 2 to 4 times the speed they can actually achieve, in fact you are lucky they can actually get a leased line to run for more than 2 days correctly from my experience.
